The City of Las Vegas Museum and Rough Rider Memorial Collection is a unit of the Community Services Department of the City of Las Vegas.
The Museum Board was created by a Las Vegas City ordinance, and its seven members are appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the City Council. The Board oversees strategic planning and policy for the museum. Museum operations are administered by a small staff, supplemented with a dedicated group of volunteers.
The Friends of the City of Las Vegas Museum support the Museum’s mission and goals through financial support of educational programs and community outreach projects.
The City of Las Vegas Museum and Rough Rider Memorial Collection engages visitors in the rich history of the Las Vegas area by collecting, preserving, and presenting objects and themes relating to the region’s unique heritage, to increase our understanding of the link between the past, present and future.
